Mulled wine

Mulled wine

In France it is known as Vin Chaud, locally we call it mulled wine and as the leaves are falling in Daylesford and the nights are getting cooler, we turn to a cup of cheeky mulled wine to warm our souls.

Ingredients 

1 300ml btl DHMSco Orange juice 

2 cups of red wine

2 tablespoons sugar

1 Orange 

1 Cinnamon stick 

3 peppercorns

1 star anise

3 cloves

Method

In a saucepan, place all ingredients  Place saucepan on a low heat (On top of a fire is perfect, if you have one).

Allow the aromatics to steep in the liquid at a mild simmer. 

Once you are happy with the flavour, it's time to drink! 

Serve in a wine glass with fresh orange.
